Inside the Artist Studio: Thomas Sleet

I visited the studio of Thomas Sleet last week, just prior to his upcoming show at Bruno David Gallery. As shown previously, I love artist studios. They seem to me to be such fully human spaces: full of revelations, discoveries, affinities, false starts, inspirations, last year’s projects, and materials that have not yet found a work in which they belong.

Thomas thinks of his studio time as a kind of isolation from outside distractions. In the studio, he can concentrate on the present moment and let it flow into his sculptures and mixed media works.

Please enjoy the photos of a fruitful chaos, one that dares not be disturbed by any but the artist. And attend his upcoming show!

Here is the press release for his opening, September 4, 2026, at Bruno David Gallery.
