Tonight: The Season’s First $2 Tuesday at Gateway Grizzlies

Hello, Metro St. Louis baseball fans!
On the Missouri side, our St. Louis Cardinals continue to exceed expectations, winning their way into a solid second-place position in the NL Central, only two games back of the Chicago Cubs Over here on the Illinois side, our Gateway Grizzlies are clinging to first place in the Midwest Conference – West Division of the Frontier League. They dropped two of three to the Schaumburg Boomers over the weekend, allowing the suburban Chicago team to get dangerously close. They are now just half a game back.
Tonight, the Grizzlies return home for the first of three games against the Florence Y’alls. The Y’alls hail from Florence, Kentucky in the greater Cincinnati, Ohio metro area. Taking their cues from their MLB counterparts, the Cincinnati Reds who are near the bottom of the NL Central, the Y’alls are in the cellar of the Frontier League Midwest Conference – Central Division. Just last week, the Grizzlies took two out of three from the Y’alls in Florence. Let’s see if we can get a sweep this week at home.
This 3-game series kicks off with the first $2 Tuesday of the season. That means $2 tickets, $2 hot dogs, and $2 Natural Light products (beer and seltzer typically). Grizz Gang assemble! I’m going to be in section 102. Friends might advise me to get a seat behind the netting, considering I nearly got clocked by a foul ball that instead landed in a trash can right in front of my mother and me. Thankfully, warnings from the bullpen pitchers gave me time to fly into an awkward attempt at shielding my Mom. Suffice it to say, I will be paying more attention this time.
Hope to see you there!
