Photos: Anti-ICE Protesters Make Their Voices Heard in West County

While President Trump was visiting the “Alligator Alcatraz” site in Florida, where a massive immigrant detention center is being planned, residents of Twin Oaks and nearby western suburbs gathered at Big Bend Rd. and Highway 141to show their opposition to the national immigration crackdown. Many of the demonstrators showed up to express their anger at the current administration’s willingness to ignore the core legal tenet of due process. Some of the signage echoed the recent “No Kings” protests that brought millions of Americans into the streets, including events in many parts of our metro region.

Drivers passing by were mixed in their response, but the crowd received many supportive honks from passing vehicles. Please enjoy this slideshow of photos taken at yesterday’s protest.
